Walden Faculty,
Laureate Online Education is proud to announce the upcoming launch of the Faculty Portal on July 25, 2007, offering:
- All information and access for faculty in a single location.
- Single-sign-on access to faculty resources such as eCollege and the Walden Library.
- The foundation for a comprehensive faculty profile database.
- Migrated online forms and KAM database.
- Access to personalized Faculty Pay data .
- Coming July 27, single-sign-on access to the Walden eCampus with new, improved email.

The main elements of the Faculty portal are single-sign-on access to faculty applications, access to secured documents, Faculty profile database, and the updated and migrated KAM database.
Single-Sign-on
The launch of the Walden Faculty Portal is the first step in Laureate Online Education’s goal to require Walden faculty only to remember a single username and password. Through use of single-sign-on technology, the faculty portal will automatically log Walden faculty members directly into the eCollege environment without requiring an additional login. The same is true for access to the Walden KAM database, the Walden Library, Walden Faculty Pay Detail, Walden Webmail and TurnItIn.
Access to secured documents and online forms
No longer will Walden Faculty members be required to log into an additional site to receive access to secured documents. With the launch of the Faculty Portal, all relevant sites and documents are simply one click away.
Faculty Profile Database
The Faculty profile database contains six major elements
1. Official (Name address, etc.)
2. Background (Biography, Interests)
3. Employment History
4. Educational History
5. Expertise (Research Methodology and Content Area)
6. Activities (Research Activities, Professional Development, Professional Memberships and Associations and Honors)
All faculty members will be asked to complete their own personal profile data, which then will be integrated into a searchable database to assist students in their studies.
Relocated and updated KAM database
A new KAM rubric has been approved and implemented within the Faculty portal. This new environment is far more stable then the previous KAM database and does not require an additional login.
The Walden IT team is very excited to offer these enhancements, which we hope will allow for you to spend less time worrying about technology and more time helping Walden students reach their goals.
